Gifting

Can I buy one of your kits as a gift for someone else?

Absolutely! When you make a purchase on our website you can let us know that it is a gift, and we won’t include a receipt when we send it out to the delivery address you provide. You can also type a message that we will print out and send with the item!

For gifting ideas why not take a look at our website here.

You can also give our needle felting subscription boxes as a gift - read all about them here!

About our kits

Are your kits suitable for beginners?

We have a wide range of kits that are perfect for beginners - you’ll find them listed on our website under the ‘easy peasy’ section for needle felting, knitting, and sewing. All of our cross stitch kits are also suitable for beginners.

Some of our kits are ‘improvers’ kits, and might be easier to try after you’ve had a go at our beginners’ kits. We will always let you know under their product description if this is the case.

Do your kits contain everything I need?

We design our kits to contain everything you need to make them, but for some you might also need some everyday household items, such as scissors or glue.

Are your kits suitable for children?

Many of our kits contain small parts and sharp needles, and so we wouldn’t recommend them for children under the age of 7 without close adult supervision - but we know that lots of children love making our kits!

Do your kits contain plastic?

Our cross stitch kits are all plastic-free, but some of our other craft kits do currently contain plastic parts. We’re trying hard to reduce the amount of plastic that we include in our kits, and to replace it with sustainable alternatives. You can learn more about our sustainability policy here.

Are your kits suitable for vegans?

Many of our kits contain natural wool, and so we’re sorry but they are not suitable for vegans.

Are there video tutorials to accompany your kits?

We aim to include all the information you need in the instruction booklets for our kits, but the lovely Stephanie Lester of Tootique Boutique has also made several video guides which you might also find helpful.

Where a video guide exists, we’ve included a link to the video on our kits’ product pages - if a kit doesn’t have a video link on its page, we’re sorry but one hasn’t been made...yet!

You can also attend our regular needle felting Zoom workshops - read more about them here!

I’m really proud of the kit that I’ve made. Can I sell it?

Although other craft companies only sell kits for personal use, we understand if you would like to sell any of our Crafty Kit Company kits that you have made, however we’d be grateful if you could credit the fact that it was one of our designs by including our name in your description of the item wherever you list it for sale.

However, we do also sell some kits which contain copyrighted instructions produced under licence. They are intended for your personal use only. Items made using these instructions may not be sold or mass produced. These instructions may not be copied or distributed without permission from The Crafty Kit Company.

How can I stock your kits in my shop or on my website?

We’d be delighted to speak with you about stocking our kits. You can contact us on info@craftykitcompany.co.uk, and you can also learn more through our dedicated trade website here.

Needle Felting

How does needle felting work?

We think that needle felting is a little bit like magic - using just your needles, wool, and a foam pad you can turn soft fluffy wool into some amazing shapes! Needle felting uses a long, thin needle which has a series of notches at its tip. As you poke the needle into and out of the wool, these notches tangle the fibres of the wool together. It’s a hugely versatile craft but warning, it’s extremely addictive!

Which kind of wool do you use in your needle felting kits?

We use two types of wool in our needle felting kits - Corriedale and Merino. The Merino sheep originated in Spain, but is now found throughout the world, such as in New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa, and provides long, silky strands. Corriedale is a New Zealand breed that was produced by breeding Merino with Lincoln and Leicester sheep, and produces shorter strands of felting wool.

Can felting needles go blunt?

If you’re as addicted to needle felting as we are, your needles will eventually go blunt! You can buy more via our website here.

Can I purchase more materials to make the same kit again?

Of course! You can purchase a range of craft supplies via our website, including more felting wool here, felting tools here, and components here.

Can I use your kits in a craft workshop?

Yes, you canI Our kits are great for use in workshops as they contain everything you need. Please purchase one kit for every attendee. The kit instructions may NOT be photocopied or distributed in any other way, for use in workshops.
