Print the template and cut out the bat wings and ghost body paper stencil (cut out circle centre)
Pin the Ghost Body Paper Stencil to the centre of needle felting pad.
Using a multi tool felt white wool. You want to felt the fibers together, keeping it light and airy.
Carefully remove the felted circle from the stencil and pad
Using an awl, carefully poke a hole in the ball. Fold the 12cm pipe cleaner in half and put in hole.
This can be a bit tricky (you can use glue or hot glue to help keep in place). Fold the pipe cleaner out to create the arms.
Place the ball with pipe cleaner in the centre of the felted ghost body.
Felt the head and arms, both front and back.
Once you have finished felting your ghost, it should look like this.
Roll two small balls of Raven wool and felt in place for eyes.
Stitch thread to the top of ghost head for hanging. Set aside.
Cut out bat wings from black felt fabric (or from freezer paper).
Felt Raven wool over the felt fabric wings. Tuck and felt to back of wings. You can trim off unwanted wool.
To define the bat wings, stitch a back stitch as shown using metallic thread. You can also stitch using regular embroidery thread.
To make the bat body more like an egg shape, felt Raven wool on the top of the ball shaping more in an oval shape. Felt the entire ball with the Raven wool.
To add the bat ears, felt 2 tiny cones; for mouth, roll a tiny sausage from Cartwheel; rolled two white balls for eyes; one ball of Cartwheel for nose. Felt in place. Then felt tiny ball of Raven wool for pupils. For fang, felt a little bit of white wool.
Felt the wings to the back of the bat body.
Tie thread to hang bat.
If you have an extra branch on your Haunted House, you may want to make one more bat or ghost.
Then tie the bat(s) and ghost(s) to the branches on Jayne’s Haunted House!
Boo To You…Happy Halloween,
