Felted Heart Hand Warmers for Valentines!

Felted Heart Hand Warmers for Valentines!

With cold winter days comes the need for a little extra warmth, and hand warmers are a simple way to keep fingers comfortable while crafting. In this project, you’ll needle felt decorative hearts to accessorise your hand warmers, adding a handmade touch while keeping your hands toasty as you stitch, felt and make throughout the day.

SUPPLIES

- Felting wool: scarlet, candyfloss, raspberry
- Scrap of corrugated cardboard
- Piece of paper
- Craft knife
- Ball head pins
- Knitted Fingerless Gloves - these can be purchased or knitted/crocheted!

Step 1

-Cut off about an inch of the foam pad. This will help it fit into the hand warmer easier

-Cut a square piece of corrugated cardboard

-Fold a piece of paper in half and cut out a small heart, trace it to the centre of the cardboard

-With a craft knife carefully cut out the heart on the cardboard

-This is your felting template

Step 2

- Put the foam pad inside the hand warmer. Make sure the thumb hole is on the right for the first one, then on the left for the other hand warmer

- Place the cardboard template as shown and pin in place

Step 3

- Take a small piece of wool felt (your colour choice)

- Start felting within the heart shape

Step 4

- Continue felting and shaping the heart within the template

Step 5

- Remove the template

Step 6

- Remove the form pad

- Turn hand warmer inside out

- Carefully trim the wool fibres until flush with the hand warmer

- Repeat to other hand warmer

Step 7

- Turn hand warmer right side out

- Now slip onto your hand and get warm and cosy

Happy Crafting,

Ana

PS- These make a great Valentine Gift! ❤️
