Top quality felting needles made in Germany by Groz-Beckert, a needle manufacturing specialist.

These are Triangular 40 Gauge needles, with 6 barbs, which come as a pack of 5 in a sealed envelope. They are fine gauge needles, suitable for detailed work and finishing.

Triangular refers to the cross-section of the needle, and the number refers to the gauge. The higher the number, the finer the gauge. The lower the number, the heavier the gauge.

A quick guide to needle gauges:

Heavy gauge needles are the ‘work horses’ of the pack and will felt quickly. They are not suitable for very small or delicate items and will leave ‘stab holes’ in the work. Gauge 32 would be classed as ‘heavy’.

A medium gauge needle such as a 36 or 38 is a good size for general felting.

Fine gauge needles such as 40 are good for fine work and finishing off.

Different needles have different numbers of barbs. More barbs = quicker felting. Fewer barbs = greater accuracy.

  • We will send your order in the UK for £4.95, using Royal Mail Tracked24 service.
  • UK orders over £45 have free delivery!

UPS Delivery (mainland UK and Northern Ireland):

  • £12 for UPS delivery. Please note that next day delivery is not guaranteed by UPS and they do not deliver at the weekends.

  • Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout. Costs are calculated by order weight as follows:
